Overview

More Than Money 360 is family stewardship technology: a private platform where families have the conversations that shape their future, prepare rising generations to participate, and keep the knowledge that usually lives only in memory. MTM360 calls the category FamTec, and the product is a member portal built for families and the advisors who work with them.

In January 2026, Blue Drop Labs took over as MTM360's primary development partner from their in-house developer. Since then we have paid down the technical debt that was slowing the platform, cleared a backlog of new features, and taken on technical leadership and advisory over the platform itself. Blue Drop Labs is the technology arm of More Than Money 360.

Taking over from an in-house developer

A platform built by one in-house developer carries everything that person knows in their head. When MTM360 decided to bring in a development partner, the first job was to move that knowledge somewhere durable. We audited the codebase, the data model, the hosting, and the release process, wrote down what we found, and set up the environments, access, and deployment path we would need to ship safely every week.

That handoff was finished quickly, and it mattered: a platform that families trust with their most personal information cannot have a gap in who is responsible for it. From January 2026 forward, Blue Drop has owned the codebase, the releases, and the on-call. The platform is built on Drupal, and taking over Drupal platforms someone else built is work we do every week as a Drupal Certified Partner.

Paying down technical debt first

Every product that has been built fast by a small team accumulates shortcuts. Before adding features, we spent the early weeks removing the ones that would make every later feature slower: inconsistent data handling, fragile pieces of the front end, and parts of the build and deployment that depended on manual steps. None of that work is visible to a family using the portal, but all of the work that followed shipped faster because of it.

Expanding the assessment and education platform

At the center of MTM360 are the assessments families take and the education materials that help them act on what they learn. We expanded both: more assessment types, richer authoring for the MTM360 team in the platform's Drupal administration, and an education library that can grow without a developer in the loop each time new material is added.

The authoring side: assessments managed as quizzes in the platform's Drupal administration, so the MTM360 team can add and revise them without a developer.

New ways to see results

An assessment is only useful if a family can understand what it says about them. We added new ways to visualize results, both for an individual member and across a family, so that patterns, strengths, and differences are visible at a glance and can anchor the conversations MTM360 facilitates.

Family Results in MTM360: the Sample Family's aggregate Learning Identifier results, with each family member's avatar and score grouped under paired learning-style dimensions such as Active and Reflective, Sensing and Intuitive, Visual and Verbal, Sequential and Global, beside an Understanding Your Results panel explaining the scores

A family chatroom built for privacy

Stewardship depends on conversation, and families are spread across cities and generations. We built a robust family chatroom inside the portal: a private space where family members share perspectives, recognize one another's contributions, and keep the conversation going between facilitated sessions. It was designed for the way families actually talk, with the privacy a platform like this demands.

The interactive family tree

The feature families respond to most is the interactive family tree. Members can traverse generations, open any family member who has been added to the system, and see their information, story, and contributions in context. It turns the platform's data into something a family can explore together, and it gives rising generations a way to see where they fit.

Try it below with five generations of a sample family.

Technical leadership, not just tickets

Clearing a backlog is the visible part of the work. The other part is advisory: deciding what the platform should become, in what order, and what it will take. We set the technical roadmap with MTM360's leadership, weigh in on product decisions with an engineering view, keep security and privacy ahead of growth, and make sure every new feature lands on a foundation that can carry the next one.

That is what it means to be a technology arm rather than a vendor. MTM360 does not have to become a software company to build one.

A partnership that lets each side do its best work

More Than Money 360 focuses on the stewardship of money in families: the conversations, the facilitation, and the advisors who bring families to the platform. Blue Drop Labs focuses on scaling the technology behind it. Through that partnership, MTM360 gets a platform that keeps pace with its ambitions, and we get to build something that helps families shape what comes next, together.
